Throughout the pandemic we have been meeting our students' most pressing needs. Now it's time to focus on their future.

An entire generation of Chileans is currently facing two years of learning loss. Only 24.8% of 10 to 13 years olds were enrolled in school throughout 2020. Studies in Chile show that missing one year of school causes a loss of 88% of learning on average. For students, like ours, in the lowest income bracket, that number jumps to 95%.

Reengaging students with their education is our top priority for 2022. We are partnering directly with schools to get kids back into the classroom.  In combination with surf sessions, our educational and environmental programming will increase academic success, fight learning loss, and benefit our students’ mental and physical health. Please make a generous contribution today to help ensure a promising tomorrow for our students.

CARES Act Giving Incentive

The CARES Act includes an increased tax benefit for giving to qualified charities (including the VSP!) through the end of 2021.

For individuals and couples who take the standard deduction, if you donate $300 you will receive an additional $300 above-the-line deduction, which means your total taxable income will decrease by $300 on your federal income taxes.

Are you able to give $300 to the Valpo Surf Project this year?

It is a great year to increase your contribution. Your donation is needed more than ever to help VSP students succeed and overcome the educational crisis they are facing. Support our kids and take advantage of this tax benefit while it lasts!
