2025 Mid-Year Impact Report

We are over halfway through 2025! As we look towards the second half of the year, we want to take a moment to share what your generosity and belief in our mission has made possible. Your support continues to create lasting impact in the lives of Valpo Surf Project students, and for that, we are deeply grateful.


Mid-Year Highlights

  • 215 kids participate in VSP weekly from 4 community partners and 4 public schools.

  • 254 total activities.

  • 656 hours of mentorship delivered across our programs. 

  • Launched our GROMS advanced surf program and advanced English program, giving motivated students the opportunity to deepen their skills and work towards bold goals, like surfing competitively and becoming fully fluent in English.

What’s Ahead

  • Looking forward, our goal is to serve 600 at-risk youth this year, the most in VSP history, and offer more mentorship and enrichment activities than ever before.

  • This year we are running a robust evaluation system to run in conjunction with our expansion in Chile. This ongoing evaluation will help us better understand our impact, where we can improve, and to ensure we are using our resources as efficiently as possible. Right now we are collecting initial data on student progress across our core areas of surfing, education, and professional development, and will continue tracking outcomes throughout the year. By March 2026, we’ll have our first full set of results to compare and share. This is an important step as we continue to grow to give our students the best program possible and to stay accountable to the people who make this work possible: you.

Help Us Get There

Right now, we are working to raise $50,000 by the end of August to keep this momentum going and reach our goal to provide 600 students with our life-changing programming in 2025.
