2nd Annual Amagansett Benefit

Updated: Nov 29, 2019

This past August we found ourselves back in the state of New York, this time for our second annual benefit in Amagansett at the Stephen Talkhouse. We survived the infamous Friday traffic from NYC to the Hamptons to make it out for the weekend and it was definitely worth it for the beautiful weather, good company, and a successful event.

This year brought a sunny Saturday (much to the delight of all who braved the rain last year) and we were able to set up on the patio of the Stephen Talkhouse. The Silent Auction was stacked with pieces graciously donated from Sean Spellman, Edwina Lucas, Rodrigo Farias and items from local businesses ARC Fine Arts LLC, Grain Surfboards, Hamptons Surf Company, Coreyswave Surf Lessons, Kingston Family Vineyards and many more.

We had an incredibly fun night that ended with us surpassing our fundraising goal. Thank you thank you to all who made our event a success. Your support is the driving force behind our programming. The funds raised are directly benefiting our operations, which has allowed us to work with more than 200 students over 828 hours of activities and counting in 2019. From the English classroom to the beach, we couldn’t do it without you!

We’d like to give a special shout out to Rob Pitts who made the entire event possible. Rob was our go-to for promotion, invitations, silent auction items, and even getting the team out for a pre-event surf. We can’t thank him enough for the high energy, hard work, and dedication to the VSP. We'd also like to recognize and thank the Stephen Talkhouse for generously hosting our event and for their continued support.

If you weren’t able to make the event, you still have the ability to make an impact on the work we do. Donations can be made online or through our Venmo account @Valpo (don’t forget to include your email address in the comments).

A big thanks again to the Hamptons community for welcoming and supporting our organization. Can’t wait to see everyone next year!
