Boston - Silent Auction Fundraiser

On Saturday, June 4th the Valpo Surf Project hosted yet another successful Boston Silent Auction Fundraiser. We had 60 people at the Venture Cafe in Cambridge, enjoying food from Anna’s Taqueria and Flatbread Pizza Company, drinks from Downeast Cider, Gosling’s Rum and Sam Adams, and a chance to bid on dozens of auction items.

Our silent auction may have been the highlight of the night. Event attendees excitedly bid on the wide array of items up for auction, helping us raise more than we had expected. Many thanks to the auction donors, including Alaina Marie, Alex Jones, Ann Marie Steuber, Barrington Coffee Roasters, the Bruett family, Coa Surf, CorePower, Chris Burkard, Dagon James and the Waverly Press, Flywheel, Forte Dance Studio, Georgette Keenan of Wisteria, InsideTracker, Janji Running Apparel, Jessica Harris, Joe Carter, Jonas Edwards-Jenks, Julianne Grandal, Kynd, Marblehead Sail Bags, Mary Ellen Rigby, Mikey Detemple, Nick Lavecchia, Nolan Hall, Piers Park Sailing Center, Russell Green, Ryan Struck, Sam Lawrence, Sarah Oliver Handbags, Scholastic Books, Tiffany White Photography, Union Surfboards, and Virginia Lunt. We are very grateful for their contributions because only with their help can we raise the funds necessary to continue our work in Chile.

This evening was also a success thanks to our organizing committee Beatriz Bolaños, Josie Reinhardt, Mackenzie Maher-Coville, Maya Holzhauer, and Pennie Taylor, event coordinator Nick Napolitano, and volunteers Bobby Philps, Callum Melrose, Clare Sachsse, Clay Russell, Colleen Thibeault, Ian Brody, Lucie Torrey, Lucy Burriss, Katie Lavallee, and Martha Rigby. And, as always, a special thanks to our development team in Chile, Eve Gutman and Varun Konanki, who worked on the event from our office in Valparaíso.

Save the date for our next event in Portland, ME on July 29 at Kingspoke! And keep up with details via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
